I think it’s time to quit Travian

I’ve said it before: I don’t play Travian for fun. It isn’t a particularly fun game. I play Travian because there are lessons to be learned from it (pertaining to game design and life) and because it really helped get me up in the morning. At this point, I think I’ve already extracted 95% of the things I can learn from Travian. Also, I don’t have trouble getting up in the morning anymore; the bigger problem now is the time I waste between getting out of bed and getting out the door. Travian is on the wrong side of this issue. ;)

Comments

  1. Hm. This means it’s probably quitting time for me, too… though part of me wants to see how far I can go with it, before being bored and/or finally disinterested.

Not to put the onus on you, but I’ve certainly come to rely on your grand strategic vision for the medium- to long-term aspect of the game. I’m not sure I can trust the stratic instincts of the less sober 404 players ::cough::Max/Alex::cough:: to guide the alliance through the big wars, if such ever come, and if we be involved in it in some way.

  2. Hey, I take offense at that comment. Having a different perspective doesn’t make me or Alex less competent in warfare.

If we’re all going to quit, why don’t we settle this matter by splitting the alliance and waging war?

  3. One will always find insults where none were given. I was just saying I trust Quad’s strategic instincts more, Max. ;p

    Finally?
    I’m the first-mover in this aspect. :)
