Regarding cell phones, tumors, and headsets

Cell phones and Bluetooth headsets both use radio frequency to transmit data. Given that cell phone use has been linked to tumors, using a wired headset would be the absolute safest bet. However, using a Bluetooth headset is already many times safer than not using a headset at all because of the difference in transmission power.

According to Wikipedia, the maximum transmission power of GSM cell phones is 1 or 2 watts, depending on frequency. The maximum transmission power of a Bluetooth headset is 2.5 milliwatts. That’s a 400x decrease. So please, don’t think a Bluetooth headset is “no good either.”

It bugs me when people walk around with a Bluetooth headset on TWENTYFOURSEVEN. Unless you’re working with the (stock) market or are a spy, you don’t need one in your ear at all times. Especially the ones that FLASHES when idle.
